Cape Town – South Africa’s Branden Grace has won the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City on Sunday.
Grace became the first South African since Trevor Immelman’s victory in 2007 to clinch the trophy at the Gary Player Country Club.
The South African carded a six-under-par 66 in his a final round to finish at 11-under-par, winning by one shot from Scott Jamieson of Scotland.
This is his first win of the season and his eighth European Tour win.
The next best South African was late entry Darren Fichardt, who finished tied for sixth at five-under-par.
Louis Oosthuizen rounded up the South Africans in the top 10 with a final round of 70 to finish at two-under-par and tied for eighth.
The Nedbank Golf Challenge is the penultimate tournament of the European Tour season and the seventh event on the Rolex Series – the European Tour’s premium category of eight tournaments for the Race to Dubai.
