Cristiano Ronaldo has told his Real Madrid team-mates he wants to return to Manchester United in the summer, claims AS.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is unhappy with the failed promises regarding a new contract at Madrid and is looking to leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain as part of a swap deal involving Neymar, previously spent six hugely successful years at United before leaving for Madrid in 2009.
City turn attention to Griezmann
Manchester City have promised Pep Guardiola the funding to sign a new striker if the club don’t land Alexis Sanchez, reports the Manchester Evening News.
With City having chased the Arsenal star but seemingly come up short, the report suggests that Guardiola will turn his attention to Antoine Griezmann.
Despite being linked with Barcelona and Manchester United, the Atletico Madrid striker has long been admired by the City boss and would become a top prospect for the summer.
Arsenal explore Auba & Mkhi deals
Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in addition to Malcom, reports the Daily Telegraph.
With Alexis Sanchez seemingly now on his way to Manchester United, the Gunners are searching for a replacement and are closing in on a £44 million deal for Bordeaux star Malcom.
But Arsenal are also interested in signing Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund and the Gabon striker’s former team-mate Mkhitaryan from United as part of the Alexis deal.
Celtic keen on Baker loan
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker on loan for the rest of the season, reports the Daily Mail.
Baker is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, but hasn’t featured in the Championship since the end of September and new boss Tony Pulis is considering sending the 22-year-old back to Stamford Bridge.
Rodgers is also keen on Baker’s Chelsea team-mate Charly Musonda, but Antonio Conte’s side would prefer to send the winger to another Premier League club on loan.
€50m China offer for Nainggolan
Guangzhou Evergrande have offered €50 million to Roma to sign midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Roma may be pressed into selling one of their key players, either in the January transfer window or the summer, and Nainggolan’s future is uncertain.
The Belgium international, who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, could earn a €12m annual salary by moving to China, with Guangzhou Evergrande’s total outlay on the fee likely to come close to €100m due to the luxury tax for signing players from overseas.
Man Utd to offer De Gea new deal
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Manchester United will offer David De Gea a new contract.
United have an option to extend De Gea’s current deal, which runs until 2019, by a further year, and Mourinho has confirmed that the club will trigger that clause while also attempting to negotiate longer terms with the Spain international.
