The starting line-ups for the clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Barcelona has been revealed.
The clash which is set to take place at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, has caught the imagination of the South African football public as the champions of South Africa lock horns with the La Liga champions.
The clash has been organised to commemorate the 100th year celebration of the fallen former state president Nelson Mandela. Barcelona though, only arrived in South Africa early on Wednesday morning.
All eyes will be on the star studded Spanish giants with the likes of Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta being given a run, but most notably, Barca have left out talisman Lionel Messi who has not made coach Ernesto Valverde’s starting squad.
However, prior to the clash, Valverde has been quoted as saying that his side would approach the game as a training match, and he will field separate teams in each half.
Meanwhile, Sundowns have been dealt a blow ahead of the highly anticipated clash as Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento was forced to be withdrawn from the fixture due to him having a flu.
