Moeti’s contract comes to an end on June 30 and reveals he wants to fulfil his dream of donning the famous black and white jersey
In his quest to find a new football home, Sipho Moeti has once again revealed his ambitions to play for Orlando Pirates.
The 26-year-old is on the lookout for a new club as he has opted against renewing his contract following the conclusion of the 2017/18 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
However, media reports indicate that the skilful midfielder has stated that he wants to don a Pirates jersey and fulfil his childhood dream.
According to the Citizen, a source close to the player said it has been Moeti’s dream to one day play for the Soweto giants, but there have not been any official talks between the player and the club.
Moeti’s revelation comes after making the same announcement last season that he wants to join one of the country’s biggest club.
However, should the Buccaneers decide to pursue the player’s signature, they may face stern compettion with Bloemfontein Celtic reportedly keen on the talented player.
Siwelele are keen on the player and previous reports suggested that his next destination could be Mangaung where he could join Jacky Motshegwa who was on loan at Baroka in the 2016/17 campaign.
After helping Baroka survive relegation in the last term, Moeti decided not to renew his contract with Bakgaga as it comes to an end on June 30.
“Pirates is his childhood club; he has always been talking about playing for the club before he started playing for Baroka,” a source told Phakaaathi.
“I understand there have been talks before, but it was not really official,” continued the source.

“Again, there are other teams that are interested in him, and should Pirates not make a move, he will be lost to another club,” explained the informer.
“The source further revealed that Moeti’s departure at Baroka was mutual after some internal issues happened at the club, but the parties are still on good terms,” concluded the source.
The former Vardos, Moroka Swallows and African All Stars player made 20 appearances in all competitions and netted two goals as well as providing an assist for the Limpopo-based side in the past season.
