Amakhosi will play their final pre-season match in Mbombela this weekend before they get their campaign underway next month
Kaizer Chiefs will look to better their last season’s position when the new campaign starts next week.
They finished third on the PSL log, behind both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Amakhosi still have one more pre-season friendly to get their combinations right before the 2018-19 season kicks off.
The Soweto giants have already been involved in two pre-season tournaments – the Maize Cup which they won as well as the Shell Helix Ultra Cup match which they lost to Sundowns this past weekend.
Goal brings you a guide to Amakhosi’s 2018-19 pre-season and their first PSL match with dates, venues and all you need to know.

The Glamour Boys headed to Rustenburg for their pre-season training camp soon after returning from the break.
This is where they prepared for the Maize Cup tournament which took place in Orkney two weeks ago.
In their first match, Amakhosi beat local side Buya Msuthu 2-0, setting up a final with fellow PSL outfit Free State Stars, who beat Chippa United in the other semi-final clash.
Chiefs, who recently appointed Giovanni Solinas as their head coach, needed a penalty to shoot-out to edge out Ea Lla Koto and defend their title.
They went into their match against Sundowns with their tails up, but Pitso Mosimane had other ideas as he guided his team to a comfortable 2-1 win over the Naturena-based outfit.
While this was just a pre-season friendly between two of South Africa’s biggest teams, Chiefs’ goalscoring problems continued, and it’s evident that they haven’t found a solution to it.
Solinas’ charges head to Mbombela to take on Cape Town City this weekend, before getting their campaign underway with a league match against Sundowns on the 4th of August 2018.
Kaizer Chiefs’ 2018-19 transfer activity
Amakhosi have sent a strong message to their rivals that they want to end their three-year trophy drought by bringing in a few quality players.
Khama Billiat is undoubtedly their marquee signing. The Zimbabwean attacker joined Chiefs on a free transfer from Sundowns, and he will get to face his former club in a competitive match for the first time next month.
Letlhogonolo Mirwa, Virgil Vries and Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana have also joined the club, even though Chiefs are still embroiled in a transfer battle with Fosa Juniors over the signing of the Madagascar international.
Patrick Mabedi has already said that the team is looking to bring in a left-back before the transfer window closes on August 31.
Chiefs are keen on Ajax Cape Town captain Mosa Lebusa, who is also wanted by several other clubs, including Mamelodi Sundowns.
