Billiat proved to be a vital cog in the Sundowns team whenever they played the Buccaneers, but Pitso Mosimane will have to find another player to pick up the pieces.
While Billiat destroyed Pirates with the help of his teammates at Sundowns, his absence whenever he wasn’t playing could be felt.
In fact, Sundowns had not lost a league match to Pirates with Billiat on the pitch in the last five years.

Overall, Sundowns faced Pirates 10 times in the league after signing Billiat from Ajax Cape Town five seasons ago.
Billiat only missed three of the 10 matches – suprisingly, Sundowns lost all of them.
Of the seven matches which he played, Sundowns recorded six wins and a single draw against Pirates.
The 28-year-old scored four goals in those in those seven matches against Pirates and contributed four assists.
Who can forget his three assists when the Brazilians thumped the Sea Robbers 6-0 at the Loftus Stadium in February 2017?
This goes to show that Billiat enjoyed playing against Pirates, who at one stage wanted to sign him.

Billiat has already scored against Pirates this season in the 2-1 loss at the FNB Stadium not so long ago.
Since playing in the PSL, Billiat has faced Pirates 14 times in all competitions whilst on the books of Ajax, Sundowns and Amakhosi.
He has scored seven goals and registered seven assists against the men in black.
