Proteas speedster Lungi Ngidi, is the latest South African to be unveiled as part of American rapper Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports family.

Ngidi joins Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and 2019 World Cup hero Cheslin Kolbe as part of the global sports management company’s growing stable.

The news was confirmed via the Roc Nation Sports Twitter channel on Tuesday where Kolisi and Kolbe were conducting a video chat before they were joined by the 24-year-old Ngidi.

In addition to a host of American sport stars, Roc Nation also represents the likes of footballers Kevin
De Bruyne (Manchester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) and Romelu Lukaku (Inter
Milan).

The company said in a statement on Tuesday that it would be handling all areas of managing Ngidi, including his contract negotiations.

“Lungi is a wonderful, talented, young man. He has the ability and the drive to be the best fast bowler in the world,” said Michael Yormark, president of Roc Nation Sports International.

“We are
thrilled to be on this journey with him, to achieve all of his goals and objectives on-and-off the field.

“His compassion, and his
dedication to philanthropic work, aligns perfectly with our company values and spirit.

“South Africa is a very important market
to Roc Nation and, having spent a lot of time on the continent over the last 12-months, our desire to support development of
talent and offer a global platform for the stories of these incredible athletes to be told has grown 10-fold.

“The people of South
Africa have welcomed us in with open arms and, as a company, we will continue to support the country in whatever way we
can.”

Ngidi, meanwhile, expressed his delight.

“I’m really excited to join the family,” said Ngidi.

“It’s a dream come true for me.”
