West Ham will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Southampton to the London Stadium.
The Hammers’ winless run extended to four games in midweek when they bowed out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Tottenham.
However, David Moyes’ side are still on the cusp of the top four in the league and victory this weekend would move them back onto the coat-tails of Arsenal depending on results elsewhere.
Here’s how the Hammers could line up.
Lukasz Fabianski (GK) – Saved a penalty in West Ham’s defeat to Arsenal and he will be keen to continue his strong form.
Ben Johnson (RB) – Made his return from injury in the defeat to Tottenham in midweek.
Craig Dawson (CB) – The experienced head in the Hammers’ backline.
Issa Diop (CB) – Big shoes to fill after Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma’s loss to injury.
Arthur Masuaku (LB) – Has stepped up in the absence of Aaron Cresswell for the Hammers.
Declan Rice (CM) – Seems to be getting better each week, showing a remarkable level of consistency.
Tomas Soucek (CM) – A threat from set pieces, which could be pivotal as West Ham toil from open play.
Pablo Fornals (AM) – Great energy and his ability to manipulate the ball helps West Ham attack with purpose.
Jarrod Bowen (RW) – Has the X-factor required to unlock any defence in the league.
Michail Antonio (ST) – Adding a striker to alleviate the workload on Antonio will be a priority for Moyes in January.
Said Benrahma (LW) – The former Brentford man isn’t an automatic pick under Moyes, but his creativity will be required this weekend.
