Manchester United welcome Wolves to Old Trafford as they look to strengthen their bid for a top four place under Ralf Rangnick.
The German is yet to taste defeat as United boss and his side bounced back from their woeful 1-1 draw against Newcastle with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Burnley in midweek.
Bruno Fernandes’ return poses a selection headache for Rangnick as they head into a pivotal – and yet very winnable – run of games in January.
Here’s how United could line up….
David De Gea (GK) – United would be considerably worse off were it not for the Spaniard’s performances this season.
Diogo Dalot (RB) – A position which must be addressed for United, but the Portuguese provides a better short-term solution than Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Raphael Varane (CB) – His return from injury will have boosted Rangnick as he aims to solidify his side’s defence.
Harry Maguire (CB) – Looked more assured in the win over Burnley, but he still has a long way to go to restore faith among the United fans.
Luke Shaw (LB) – Impressed in the win over Burnley and boasts better quality in possession than Alex Telles.
Jadon Sancho (RM) – Rangnick may be keen to see the winger in the position he excelled in at Borussia Dortmund.
Fred (CM) – His general performances have improved since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure.
Scott McTominay (CM) – His energy and doggedness in midfield has made him an instant hit with Rangnick. Scored last time out.
Bruno Fernandes (LM) – Should go straight back into the team following his return from suspension, although this isn’t his best position.
Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) – The go-to man for goals in this United side, and Rangnick has indulged him despite his lack of off-the-ball work.
Edinson Cavani (ST) – Has made a big impact in recent weeks since his return a niggling tendon problem, with his movement sublime.
