Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has credited veteran striker John Antwi for the sides impressive performance in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

Antwi joined the Still Believe lads before the start of the Africa campaign and has become an instant hit for the club in the ongoing season.

The former Al Ahly and Pyramids star has scored seven goals and provided one assist in the Confederations Cup as Dreams FC closes in on semifinals qualification.

The Ghana FA Cup champions secured a massive 2-1 away win over the Malian giants on Sunday and will head into the second leg with the advantage.

Antwi weaved his magic in the crucial encounter, netting a brace to hand his side the advantage going into the return fixture on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Stade Malien shot into the lead but the Ghanaian outfit staged a comeback to snatch an all-important victory over their opponent.

In an audio aired on Wontumi FM monitored by, the experienced Ghanaian trainer eulogized John Antwi for his leadership role in the club’s Africa campaign, saying he is hugely involved in the club’s success story in Africa so far.

“John Antwi’s inclusion in the team has helped us a lot, both on and off the field. With his vast experience in Africa, he is able to guide the players on and off the field and that is helping us in Africa.During games, i relay information to him to deliver to his colleagues on the field. Our heartfelt thanks goes to God and Antwi,because he is really working both on and off the field” he said.

The Still Believe lads will host Stade Malien at the Baba Yara Stadium, and it presents Dreams FC with a significant advantage as they aim to progress further in the competition.
