2026 World Cup: ‘Mali game will be difficult’ – Black Stars coach Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has admitted that the game against Mali next week in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will be difficult.

He said this after naming his 26-man squad for the games against West African country and the Central African Republic.

Ghana opened its qualifying campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Madagascar in Kumasi before losing by the same score line to Comoros in the second group game.

Ghana currently sits fourth in Group I with three points, three behind leaders Comoros.

“The aim is to qualify. It will be difficult especially the away game with Mali. They have a very good squad.”

The Black Stars are set to face Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako in the third round of qualifying for the Canada and USA World Cup,

Four days later, the team will return to Ghana for the fourth round match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium against the Central African Republic.
