2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana coach Otto Addo seeks back-to-back wins ahead of CAR showdown

Ghana will host Central Africa Republic in a crucial encounter with both teams keen on securing maximum points in matchday four of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars has revived their World Cup qualification chances after triumphing over Mali in Bamako on Thursday night. Jordan Ayew scored a late winner as the Black Stars came from a goal down to shock the best-ranked team in Group I, Mali.

Mali opened the scoring before the halftime break through Kamory Doumbia as they went to recess with the advantage.

Putting on a stellar performance, Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah equalized in the 58th minute mark before substitute Jordan Ayew fired home the winning goal in injury time.

The four-time Africa champions were considered as the less-fancied side due to their unimpressive performance this year, including AFCON 2023 group stage exit.

But the Black Stars shocked Mali after securing a crucial away win in the qualifiers.

Ghana go into their game against Central Africa Republic on the back of a crucial 2-1 away win over Mali, a result that has undoubtedly boosted the Black Stars chances of securing qualification to the biggest soccer mundial.

The Black Stars bounced back from defeat against Comoros in the matchday 2 to secure an all-important victory to revive their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Having triumphed over Mali, Otto Addo and his charges will be aiming to secure their second straight victory when they take on Central Africa Republic.

Ghana has moved to the second position after three matches in Group I, accumulating six points but are tied on points with log leaders Comoros.
