Abdul Mumin makes debut for Ghana in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali

Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin made his first appearance for the national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Mali in Bamako.

Abdul Mumin was brought on as a substitute in the 79th minute, replacing Alidu Seidu at the Stade 26 Mars.

The Black Stars were determined to return to winning ways after a mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, where they had one win and one loss in their first two matches.

Ghana began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi, but then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.

In this evening’s match, Ghana secured a 2-1 win over Mali, with goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew.

The away victory has given the team a much-needed boost in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Ghana will face the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
