Zico Asare hungry for an opportunity at Harrogate Town – Head of Recruitment Lloyd Kerry

Harrogate Town’s head of player recruitment, Lloyd Kerry, has lauded the acquisition of Ghanaian defender Zico Asare following his transfer from Maidenhead United to the English League Two club.

The 23-year-old’s move was confirmed for an undisclosed fee, marking Harrogate’s second signing of the summer after securing winger Stephen Duke-McKenna.

Asare’s career trajectory saw him join Maidenhead United in 2022, where he amassed 88 appearances across various competitions for the National League outfit.

Kerry expressed optimism about Asare’s potential impact, highlighting his athleticism, power, and eagerness to prove himself in the Football League.

“Zico is athletic, powerful and is hungry for an opportunity in the Football League – he has the profile we’re looking for in a full-back and he’ll add competition for places,” Kerry remarked upon completing the deal.

Harrogate Town has not disclosed the length of Asare’s contract, but the club’s proactive approach in bolstering their squad underscores their ambitions for the upcoming season in League Two.
