Former Ghana international, Augustine Arhinful has bemoaned the lack of quality pitches in the country.
Pitches in the country have dominated the talking points for the wrong reasons in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
The Golden City Park in Berekum dominated the media after Chelsea defeated Asante Kotoko 3-0.
Despite the win for the home side, football fans criticized the nature of the pitch.
And according to Arhinful, who is a former AshantiGold SC striker, it is about time pitches as developed.
He added that the country is blessed with football talents but the lack of quality pitches hinders the progress of the players and makes ball progression difficult.
“First of all, my big issues have to do with the pitches we have in the country,” he told Takoradi-based Empire FM.
“The nature of our pitches is so bumpy that it becomes difficult for ball progression and we can’t get to see the flow of football
“We have talents in the country, but we can’t only use talent to reach the apex of football.
“We have to start developing these talents and start by having good pitches for these talents to be able to play the best football,” he added.
The matchday 27 games of the ongoing season kicked on Friday with Accra Lions hammering Medeama SC.
