We will make money from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s move to Leicester City – Ruben Amorim

Sporting CP’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has confirmed Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s imminent transfer to Leicester City on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old’s successful season at the club means a permanent move to the Premier League returnees was inevitable.

Amidst a challenging first season in Europe at Sporting last season, Issahaku’s loan move to Leicester City proved pivotal in the club’s triumphant return to the English Premier League as Championship winners, leading to Leicester’s activation of the €17 million buy option clause.

Speaking about the former Dreams FC youngster’s future, Amorim, who did not mince words when he was talking about Fatawu’s football education last season, was again ruthless while talking about his future after the loan at Leicester.

“We will make money,” Amorin affirmed. “Talented players who don’t adapt here will move to other clubs and give us added value; it’s our system.”

Issahaku’s impact was felt profoundly as he notched up an impressive tally of six goals from the wing. Among his standout performances was a wonderful hat-trick in Leicester’s dominant 5-0 victory over Southampton.

However, Issahaku’s influence extended beyond scoring goals; his creative flair resulted in an astonishing 13 assists throughout the season, cementing his status as one of Leicester’s key playmakers.
