In their previous game, Hearts of Oak suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Legon Cities, with Albert Yeboah scoring twice in the 55th and 67th minutes. Meanwhile, Accra Lions drew 1-1 away to Karela United, with Bernard Kesse scoring for Lions and Mohammed Sulemana equalizing for Karela.
Hearts of Oak will be desperate to turn their fortunes around and avoid slipping further down the table, while Accra Lions will be aiming to continue their good run of form and push for a top-four finish.
